Maintaining Eye Health

Our Monthly meeting features Ilene K. Gipson PhD Professor of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School, Ocular Surface Scholar & Senior Scientist, Schepens Eye Research Institute who will speak on Eye Health.

Dr. Gipson  will discuss age-related changes in vision and what we can do to ameliorate them. Subjects will include dry eye, cataracts, and age-related macular degeneration and what we can do to stay as healthy as possible.

Dr. Gipson has been instrumental, with colleagues from around the U.S. and the world, in the founding of the Women’s Eye http://www.w-e-h.org/  It has been estimated that three-quarters of blindness and visual impairment is preventable or treatable, thus, education of the public is paramount. Women’s Eye was formed as an education, outreach program.
