Honey Bees

April 22, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Mark Hanson will present a program on Honey Bees and pollinators. He has been keeping bees for fifty years will be our April speaker. His concern for the environment, love of gardening and beekeeping have made him an activist for pollinator protection.  Mark will talk about his experiences keeping bees, his understanding of their hive mentality, where all serve “the greater good”, and what is happening around the world to protect our bees and other native pollinators.

Mark has been tracking hive health in Concord and finds that local hives are struggling.  Find out what we all can do to help our bees and butterflies.

Our lives – and the world as a whole – would be a much different place if bees didn’t exist. Honeybees and other pollinators and the invaluable pollinating services they provide us  helped produce approximately $19 billion worth of agricultural crops in the U.S. alone in 2010.

Come and enjoy.
