Helping Each Other: Growing Concord After 60
January is a time of new beginnings, and we want to start off the new year with a discussion of all the things we can do to engage with each other, new and old friends, in new and helpful ways. One of the main goals of Concord After 60 is to provide mutual support to each other so we may continue to live independently . After a year and a half of growth and activities, we want to explore how we can build on the relationships that we have formed.
Sunday, after refreshments, we will brainstorm about three different CA60 volunteer opportunities. These include leadership roles in the activities/small groups (book group, walking, movies and plays trips, etc.) or serving on the steering committee; “Help in a Pinch,” short term help for each other; and hosting meetings or providing beverages or refreshments at a meeting. We also want to know what kinds of support you think would be most helpful to you, and what kinds of topics would be interesting for us all to explore.
Put your thinking caps on and join us for a fun afternoon of sharing and thinking about ways to make Concord After 60 mean more to all of us who have started on this venture.
